She is an academic and professional translator. She studied in Turkey, France and Britain. She obtained her BA degree on public administration and political science, masters degree on international relations and Phd on European Union studies, completed with a thesis on the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate. She worked at Strasbourg as a visiting research fellow, granted by the TÜBİTAK (Turkish Academy of Sciences) and wrote reports for the Council of Europe. Her main area of research is national minorities and religious institutions. She's taught over 15 years at Yeditepe University and gave academic consulting. She has many published translated books. She's very interested in philology. She's the co-manager of the Bilge Contemporary Art Collection that belongs to her family; arts and culture is her major passion. Besides her native Turkish, she speaks French, English, Spanish, Catalan and still learning Russian.
